From the DMG to your first meeting.
About five minutes. Five steps, then KittyYawn sits quietly beside your calls.
Install KittyYawn
Open the DMG from the Download page (or the link your inviter sent) and drag KittyYawn into Applications. Public beta releases are signed and notarized by Apple and open normally.
Sign in with your email
On the Today screen, enter your email and the 6-digit code we send. There is no password.
Allow microphone and system audio
KittyYawn asks in order: Microphone for your side of the call, System Audio Recording for the other side, and Calendar if you want meetings named and prepared automatically. Audio is processed on your Mac and not uploaded.
Try the guided sample
A one-minute fictional meeting shows the overlay, one grounded Moment with its source, a Live Answer to “What did I miss?”, and a drafted follow-up to review. It also shows the part that matters most: most of the sample is quiet.
Start your first meeting
Join your call in Zoom, Google Meet, Microsoft Teams or in the room. KittyYawn detects it from your calendar, or when you press Listen, and stays in a small overlay in the corner. Tell the other participants and get consent where the law requires it; setup includes a one-line disclosure you can paste into the chat. The summary usually arrives a few minutes after you hang up.
Then, when you need it
Waitlist, or no account at all
If registration is paused you’ll see a waitlist screen and we’ll email you when there’s room. Prefer no account? Add your own Anthropic key in Settings and use KittyYawn without signing in.
The first sync question
The first time you sign in on a Mac, KittyYawn asks whether to sync that Mac. Nothing from your meetings is uploaded until you answer, and you can change it later in Settings › Account › Sync. Transcripts and audio never sync.
Point it at your Knowledge
Choose a folder of notes, runbooks or FAQs and KittyYawn answers from it during meetings. Only the short excerpts used in a request leave your Mac.
If a permission was denied
Open System Settings › Privacy & Security, turn KittyYawn on under Microphone and under Screen & System Audio Recording (choose “System Audio Recording Only” if offered), then restart listening in the app.
macOS says it can’t verify the app
That happens only with older pre-release builds. Public beta releases are signed and notarized. For an old build: System Settings › Privacy & Security › Open Anyway, then open it again.
Updates and uninstall
The menu bar tells you when a new build is out; download it from this site and replace the app, your data stays. To uninstall, quit KittyYawn and move it to the Trash. Meetings, memory and settings stay on your Mac until you remove them; use the in-app controls (Forget, Delete meetings, Delete account) first if you want your data gone.
